Are you interested in working over the summer or winter break, in a position where you’ll get to build skills and experience and contribute to an exciting startup project? If you are a student at UQ, whether in engineering, business, psychology or any other discipline, ilab has incredible opportunities for you.
The ilab Startup Internship Program is an internship that runs for a few months over the summer and winter school holidays where you are matched with high quality opportunities and introduced to startups in need of additional skills. We do bring in all startups having expressed interest in welcoming interns so they can actually pitch you. They are presenting their company, culture and opportunities for you to pick. Then the recruitment process reverts to them defining who matches their needs best.
Of course you will be self starting and have initiative – why else would you be interested in startups? Your work will be serious, you will learn from experienced entrepreneurs, developers, professionals in ilab and the ecosystem, all creating new businesses. You will be exposed to all of the learnings about what it takes to make a startup, and how smart, tech-savvy founders can really drive the success and progress of global, startup businesses.
- You need to be honest and forward about your skills and commitment
- You will be representing UQ at these businesses so you are asked to not behave in any way which would be considered offensive or unlawful
- This will be an investment in you – you must commit to the startup.
