ilab’s Mentor Blaze – Speed Dating with Mentors is on Again.!

MentorBlaze2014 action

ilab’s Mentor Blaze is a unique event on the startup calendar, matching aspiring founders with 25+ mentors for rotating 20 minute mentor sessions.   This event will be on April 23rd 2015.  Mentor Blazes help new entrepreneurs get rapid and varied feedback on their startup idea from experienced mentors to help them focus their idea, progress it or even dump it.  Mentees who are new to the startup space get a great opportunity to learn the value of mentoring.  The mentors pool includes founders who have exited, founders of growth stage startups, investors, experienced entrepreneurs, senior executives from global technology companies and more. These mentors really love the opportunity to talk with so many new entrepreneurs and people with new ideas all in one place.    Wind down afterwards with a few drinks.

ilab’s Mentor Blaze attracts students, general public, aspiring entrepreneurs, industry, investment and the media. Just $10 to cover some costs. Free for students.

Mentor Blaze is a growing Queensland movement with both Townsville and Cairns in on the show this time around.  The goal is to make this a statewide startup entrepreneurship day twice a year.

Feedback from past attendees and mentors has been extremely positive.  It is a pretty frantic and energising session, and attendees and mentors are guaranteed to have a challenging and stimulating time.  Some feedback from last year..

“Mentor Blaze is the perfect introduction for the curious newcomer or emergent IT leader”. Michelle McAllister, Mentee 2014

“A fantastic opportunity to get high quality feedback from very experienced entrepreneurs”. Nish Bandara, Mentee 2014

“Mentor Blaze is like receiving a transfusion of pure enthusiasm” Mike Avey, Investor Mentor 2014

“Mentor blaze is such a great opportunity to reach out, ask questions and make valuable connections – I recommend it to anyone thinking of, doing or involved in a start-up”   Simone Perkins, Founder Mentor 2014

If you want to participate, or potentially contribute as a mentor, you can register here.  Alternatively, if it is easier or you have questions, . Application will close April 21 or earlier if sold out.
